HeySitters Verification FAQ for Caregivers & Job Posters

No, “Verify Me” and background checks are not the same. “Verify Me” confirms your identity by verifying your personal details, such as a government-issued ID and a selfie. It is a way to build trust and credibility within the HeySitters community. A background check, however, is a separate process involving a review of criminal records, employment history, and other personal checks, which we do not conduct. We recommend that job posters conduct background checks with local agencies.

Verification adds a layer of trust and credibility to your profile. You’ll get a Verified Badge, making you stand out to other users. This helps you connect faster and build lasting relationships within the HeySitters community. Plus, many users prefer to connect with verified profiles for added peace of mind.

Getting verified is quick and easy! Here’s how:

  1. Go to your HeySitters dashboard and click on “Verify Me” in the top header.
  2. You’ll be directed to the verification page. Click the “Get Verified” button to begin.
  3. Complete the payment to proceed with the verification.
  4. After payment, you’ll be guided through the simple verification steps to confirm your identity.

You’ll need a government-issued photo ID (like a passport or driver’s license) and a device with a camera to take a selfie. The process is quick and secure, ensuring your information is protected.

The entire verification process takes just a few minutes. Once you’ve completed the steps, your profile will be updated with the Verified Badge.

Verify Me is an optional service for care providers to verify their identity, helping you stand out and build trust with job posters. It’s not required, and you can use the platform fully without it. If you choose Verify Me, it involves a separate fee, managed through My Personal Info > Verify Me.

Log in, go to My Personal Info > Verify Me, or find the Verify Me page in the top header menu. Follow the steps to enroll, and you’ll be guided through the verification process and payment.

Yes, you can cancel Verify Me anytime. Go to My Personal Info > Verify Me > Manage Subscription, or use the Verify Me page in the header menu to stop the service. It’ll end at the end of the current billing period if recurring.

As a care seeker, the Basic Plan lets you post unlimited job listings and search for caregivers for free. You can browse profiles and see who’s available, but you’ll need a paid subscription to message caregivers directly.

To message caregivers, you need a paid subscription. Log in, go to My Personal Info > Subscription and Payment, and choose a plan—monthly (every 30 days), 3-month (every 90 days), or 6-month (every 180 days). Once subscribed, you can send and receive messages to arrange care.

It’s simple! Log in, navigate to My Personal Info > Subscription and Payment, and select your plan (monthly, 3-month, or 6-month). Enter your payment details, and you’ll unlock messaging and other premium features.
