Subscriptions & Refund Policy – HeySitters

At HeySitters, we aim to provide a transparent payment experience for families and care providers in Canada and the United States. This Payment and Refund Policy is part of our Terms and Conditions. For questions, visit our Contact Us page.

1. Plans and Billing

HeySitters offers distinct plans for care seekers (job posters) and care providers:

For Care Seekers/Job Posters

Basic Plan: Free, allowing unlimited job postings and the ability to search for care providers. Messaging care providers requires a paid subscription.

Paid Subscriptions: Unlock messaging and other premium features. To subscribe, log in, go to My Personal Info, select Subscription and Payment, and choose your plan:

Monthly Subscription: Billed every 30 days.

3-Month Subscription: Billed every 90 days.

6-Month Subscription: Billed every 180 days.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the renewal date. You authorize recurring charges to your payment method.

For Care Providers

Free Access: No subscription required. Care providers can message job posters and access the platform for free. You may cease use and request profile removal anytime via account settings or our Contact Us page.

Verify Me Service: An optional paid service to verify your identity, enhancing trust with job posters. This is not a subscription but a separate service, which may involve a one-time or recurring fee, managed via My Personal Info > Verify Me.

2. Pricing and Currency

– Users in Canada are charged in Canadian dollars (CAD).

– Users in the United States are charged in U.S. dollars (USD).

– Applicable sales taxes (e.g., HST, GST) will be added as required by law.

– Payments are processed securely via Stripe using Mastercard, Visa, or American Express.

We reserve the right to adjust prices with advance notice, communicated via email or the platform.

3. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your paid subscription or Verify Me service at any time, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the current billing period, allowing access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time. Below are the steps to cancel:

For Care Seekers/Job Posters

To cancel a subscription (monthly, 3-month, or 6-month):

– Log in and go to My Personal Info.

– Select Subscription and Payment.

– Review or cancel your subscription directly.

For Care Providers

To cancel the optional Verify Me service (if enrolled):

– Log in and go to My Personal Info.

– Click Verify Me, then select Manage Subscription.

– Cancel or review your service from there.

Alternatively:

– Navigate to the Verify Me page from the top header menu.

– Select Manage Subscription to cancel.

App-Based Subscriptions

For subscriptions purchased through the HeySitters Android or iOS app, you must cancel via your app store account, as HeySitters cannot cancel these directly:

Android App: Cancel via Google Play (see Google Support instructions).

iOS App: Cancel via iPhone subscriptions menu (see Apple Support instructions).

4. Refund Policy

Subscriptions and Verify Me services are non-refunded, except within 7 days of a charge for:

– Duplicate charges due to billing errors, verified by our team.

– Technical issues preventing access to paid features for a significant period, confirmed by our support.

– Fraudulent or unauthorized transactions, validated by our team.

Submit refund requests via our Contact Us page. Approved refunds are processed within 10 business days to the original payment method. No cooling-off period applies, as services begin immediately upon purchase with your consent.

Upon termination of your account or agreement, no refunds are provided for services already delivered or completed billing periods, and any outstanding payment obligations remain due.

5. Disputes and Chargebacks

Contact us via our Contact Us page to resolve billing issues before initiating a chargeback. Unauthorized chargebacks may result in account suspension or termination, as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks and pursue legal remedies for fraudulent claims.

6. User Responsibilities

By using our payment services, you agree to:

– Provide accurate, current, and complete payment information, updating it promptly as needed.

– Review charges and report discrepancies within 7 days via our Contact Us page.

– Comply with all tax obligations related to payments made or received through the platform.

– Ensure sufficient funds are available for recurring charges to avoid service interruptions.

Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in account restrictions or additional fees, per our Terms.

7. Agreement to Policy

By making a payment, you agree to this Payment and Refund Policy and our Terms and Conditions, which govern your use of the Services. This Policy does not create any third-party rights or obligations. We are not liable for errors or delays beyond our control, including payment processing issues.
