Verification

No, 'Verify Me' and background checks are not the same. 'Verify Me' confirms your identity by verifying your personal details, such as a government-issued ID and a selfie. It is a way to build trust and credibility within the HeySitters community. A background check, however, is a separate process involving a review of criminal records, employment history, and other personal checks, which we do not conduct. We recommend that job posters conduct background checks with local agencies.
Verification adds a layer of trust and credibility to your profile. You'll get a Verified Badge, making you stand out to other users. This helps you connect faster and build lasting relationships within the HeySitters community. Plus, many users prefer to connect with verified profiles for added peace of mind.
Getting verified is quick and easy! 1. Go to your dashboard and click 'Verify Me' in the header. 2. Click 'Get Verified' on the page. 3. Complete payment ($9/year). 4. Follow the steps to upload your ID and selfie.
You'll need a government-issued photo ID (like a passport or driver's license) and a device with a camera to take a selfie. The process is quick and secure.
The entire verification process takes just a few minutes. Once completed, your profile will be updated with the Verified Badge immediately.
After verification, your profile will display the Verified Badge. This indicates to other users that you've been verified, increasing your trustworthiness and making you more likely to connect with suitable matches.
Yes, your privacy is our top priority. We use industry-leading, bank-level security for verification. Your information is encrypted and never shared with other users.
If your verification fails, ensure your ID photo is clear, well-lit, and shows all corners. Your selfie should match the photo on your ID. Common issues include blurry images, glare, or expired documents. You can try again immediately after a failure.
Once verified, go to Settings and click Subscription. Click 'Manage Subscription' to open your billing page where you can cancel. Your badge stays active until your current billing period ends.
Verification is valid for one year. You'll be prompted to renew before it expires to keep your Verified Badge active.

Account & Settings

Click your profile picture in the top right corner of any page, then select 'Settings' from the menu that appears.
Go to Settings, then click the Profile tab. Click the 'Edit' button to update your name, email, phone number, or profile picture.
Go to Settings, click the Account tab, then click 'Security Settings'. A popup will appear where you can change your password.
Two-factor authentication adds extra security to your account. Go to Settings > Account > Security Settings. Look for 'Two-factor authentication' and follow the simple steps to set it up using your phone.
Go to Settings and click the Communication tab. You'll see toggles for Email Notifications, Text Messages, and Marketing Emails. Turn them on or off as you prefer, then click 'Save Preferences'.
If you signed up for both roles, go to Settings and click the Profile tab. Look for the 'Role Management' section and click the toggle to switch. You can only use one role at a time.
Go to Settings, click the Account tab, and scroll down to the red 'Danger Zone' section. Click 'Delete Account', type the word DELETE in the box, and confirm. Warning: This cannot be undone. All your data, jobs, and messages will be permanently removed.
Everything is permanently removed: your profile, all job postings, saved caregivers or jobs, message history, and any active subscription (no refunds). You'll be logged out immediately.
No. Once deleted, your account cannot be recovered. You would need to sign up again with a new account.
Go to Settings, click the Profile tab, then click 'Edit'. Click on your current photo to upload a new one. A clear, friendly headshot works best!
Go to My Profile and update the city or region field. Having an accurate location helps you find local opportunities.

Messaging & Chat

Click the envelope icon in the top navigation bar, or go to 'My Messages' from the user dropdown menu. All your conversations appear in a list on the left side.
Families need a Premium Subscription to send and reply to messages. You can receive messages from caregivers, but to respond, go to Settings > Subscription and choose a plan (monthly, 3-month, or 6-month).
Yes! Caregivers can send messages to job posters completely free. There are no limits on how many conversations you can start.
Find a caregiver profile you're interested in, click on it, and use the 'Message' button. Write a friendly introduction about your care needs and send. (Premium subscription required for families.)
Read receipts are shown below each message. When the recipient has seen your message, you'll see a double checkmark or delivery indicator.
Yes! In the Messages page, use the 'Verified Only' toggle at the top to filter your conversation list to only show verified users.
Open the conversation, click the user's name or the menu icon at the top, and select 'Block User'. Confirm the action. Blocked users cannot message you.
In any conversation, click the menu icon and select 'Report'. Choose a reason (spam, harassment, fake profile, etc.) and provide details. Our team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
For your safety, we automatically mask personal contact information (phone numbers, emails) in messages until you've established trust. This prevents sharing of personal data before you're ready.
Currently, you cannot delete conversations, but you can block a user to stop receiving messages from them. Blocked conversations move to a separate section.
When a caregiver messages a job poster for the first time, we may send a brief automated introduction to help start the conversation professionally.

Posting Jobs

Yes! Posting jobs on HeySitters is completely free. You can post various job types, including child care, senior care, pet care, and house care.
Once posted, your job is visible to all care providers on HeySitters. Caregivers interested in your job can send you a message.
Click 'Post Job' in the navigation bar or go to My Jobs > New. Fill in the job details (type of care, schedule, location, rate) and click 'Post Job'.
Go to 'My Jobs' in the top menu. Find your job, click the edit icon to modify details, or the delete icon to remove it completely.
Our AI-powered 'Help Me Write' feature helps you create a well-structured, professional job description that attracts qualified caregivers. Click the button while editing your job description.
Yes! Caregivers can send you messages regarding your job post. You'll receive a notification when someone is interested.
All messages from caregivers will appear in your Inbox (envelope icon in the nav bar). You can review their profiles and experience from there.
No, ID verification is not required to post a job. However, having a Verified Badge helps build trust and credibility with caregivers.
Only Premium users can reply to caregivers. If you're not subscribed, you can still receive messages but won't be able to respond. Upgrade in Settings > Subscription.
You can post jobs in: Child Care (babysitting, nanny, tutoring), Senior Care (companionship, assistance), Pet Care (dog walking, pet sitting), and House Care (housekeeping, home management).
Yes, you can post as many jobs as you need! Each job posting is managed independently in your My Jobs dashboard.
Your job post remains active until you remove it or mark it as filled. There's no expiration date.
Yes! Each job has a unique URL. Copy the link from your browser's address bar while viewing the job and share it anywhere.
Go to My Jobs, find the job, and click the status toggle or 'Mark as Filled' option. This hides the job from search results.

Applying for Jobs

Click 'Find Jobs' in the navigation bar or go to /find-jobs. Browse available care jobs in your area using the search and filters.
When you find a job of interest: 1. Click on the listing to view details. 2. Click the 'Message' button. 3. Write a professional introduction about your experience. 4. Send!
Job posters prefer verified and complete profiles. Get Verified, upload a friendly profile picture, complete your bio with specific experience, add certifications (CPR, First Aid), and respond promptly to messages.
All conversations are in your Inbox. Click the envelope icon in the nav bar or go to My Messages to view and respond to job posters.
Use the filters on the Find Jobs page to narrow results by: Job type (child care, senior care, etc.), Location, Pay rate, Schedule (full-time, part-time), and more.
No! Applying for jobs on HeySitters is completely free for caregivers. You can browse and message as many job posters as you like.
Look for Verified or Premium badges on their profile. We also monitor for fake listings. Always trust your instincts and meet in a public place first.
Our AI enhances your 'About Me' section or message drafts to make them more professional and engaging. Click the button while editing to get suggestions.
No, but you can send a follow-up message with corrections or additional details if needed.
On any job listing, click the heart icon to save it. Access all saved jobs from Saved Jobs in the user dropdown menu.

No, it's completely free for caregivers! You can create a profile, browse jobs, and message job posters without any fees.
Yes, messaging job posters is 100% free for care providers. No subscription required.
Verify Me is an optional $9/year service to verify your identity. It builds trust but is not required to use the platform. You get a Verified Badge on your profile.
Click 'Verify Me' in the header or go to Settings > Subscription. Click 'Get Verified', complete payment, then follow the ID check flow.
Yes, anytime. Go to Settings > Subscription and click 'Manage Subscription' to access the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
Post unlimited jobs and search caregivers for free. You need a Premium Subscription to send or reply to messages from caregivers.
You need a paid subscription. Go to Settings > Subscription to choose: Monthly, 3-Month, or 6-Month plans. Once subscribed, you can send unlimited messages.
We offer several plans: Monthly (billed every 30 days), 3-Month (billed every 90 days), and 6-Month (billed every 180 days). Check the Subscription page for current pricing.
Yes, cancel anytime in Settings > Subscription > Manage Subscription. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Go to Settings > Subscription and click 'Manage Subscription'. In the Stripe portal, you can update your credit card or payment method.
Subscriptions are non-refundable once the billing period has started. You can cancel to prevent future charges, but current period fees are not refunded.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our secure payment partner, Stripe.

Saved Items

Click the heart icon on any caregiver profile or job listing. The item will be added to your saved list for easy access later.
Click your profile picture and select 'Saved Caregivers' from the dropdown menu, or go to /saved-caregivers directly.
Click your profile picture and select 'Saved Jobs' from the dropdown menu, or go to /saved-jobs directly.
Go to your Saved Caregivers or Saved Jobs page, find the item, and click the heart icon again (it will be filled). This removes it from your saved list.
No, you can save as many caregivers or jobs as you like. There's no limit.
Currently, we don't send notifications for saved profile updates. We recommend checking your saved list periodically.
No, saving a profile is private. Caregivers are not notified when you save their profile.
